2014 NNS VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 First Practice Session Speeds:

f7492ad42939911a936b446344871260The NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) teams descended upon Darlington Raceway Thursday afternoon for their first VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 practice session. And, at the end of the session it was Joey Logano, with a lap speed of 169.380 m.p.h., showing the quickest way around the track known to be “too tough to tame.”

Kyle Busch, with a lap speed of 168.700 m.p.h., put up the second quickest lap speed, and he was followed by Kyle Larson (168.613 m.p.h.) who was third, series Sunoco Rookie of the Year (ROTY) contender, Chris Buescher (168.371) fourth and Aric Almirola/Dakoda Armstrong (168.301) was fifth quickest

Rounding out the top-ten quickest drivers in the session were Kevin Harvick (168.135 m.p.h.) who was sixth, Brian Scott (167.957) seventh, Elliott Sadler (167.848) eighth, ROTY contender Ty Dill0n (167.785) ninth and Regan Smith (167.163) posting the tenth quickest lap speed.

2014 NNS VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 Final Practice Session Speeds:

s1_1NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Sunoco Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidate, Chris Buescher, with a lap speed of 170.365 m.p.h., was the fastest Thursday afternoon during the final VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 practice session at Darlington Raceway.

Putting up the second fastest lap speed of 168.758 m.p.h., was Kyle Busch, followed by ROTY candidate, Ty Dillon (168.469 m.p.h.) who was third, Trevor Bayne (168.296) fourth and ROTY candidate Chase Elliott (168.117) was fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest drivers in the “Happy Hour” (final) practice were Brian Scott (168.031 m.p.h.) who was sixth, Joey Logano (168.025) seventh, Kyle Larson (167.705) eighth, Matt Kenseth (167.442) ninth and Kevin Harvick (167.197) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.

The teams return Friday afternoon at 4:10 p.m. (ET) for qualifying to determine the starting lineup for that evening’s 32nd annual VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200. The race is scheduled to get underway around 8:20 p.m. (ET) Friday night, and ESPN2 will provide television coverage beginning with their 7:30 p.m. (ET) NASCAR Countdown pre-race show.
