It was a non-point event for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Saturday night, and Jamie McMurray became a million dollars richer when he won his – and team owner Chip Ganassi – first NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Coming up short – by 0.696 seconds – was Kevin Harvick bringing home second, while Matt Kenseth finished third, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fourth and pole-sitter Carl Edwards finishing fifth.
The 2013 defending series champion, Jimmie Johnson, placed sixth, as last night’s Sprint Showdown winner, Clint Bowyer, finished seventh, Brian Vickers eighth, Denny Hamlin ninth and Brad Keselowski rounding out the top-ten finishing positions.
