Winning from the pole, Jimmie Johnson brings home the checkers at the Coca-Cola 600!

Boh2Z93CAAAaCbuJimmie Johnson won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race of the 2014 season Sunday night, as he goes from the pole to victory lane in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Johnson, who led the most laps – 164 out of 400, received his sixty-seventh series career victory, his fourth Coca-Coa 600 victory and his seventh series career victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway (which breaks a tie with Bobby Allison and Darrell Waltrip to become the all-time series points wins leader at the track).

Coming in 1.272 seconds behind Johnson to finish second was Kevin Harvick, and they were followed by Matt Kenseth finishing third, Carl Edwards fourth and Jamie McMurray finished fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten finishing positions were Brian Vickers bringing home sixth, the current series points leader, Jeff Gordon (leaves Charlotte with a 11-point lead over Matt Kenseth) seventh, Paul Menard eighth, Kyle Busch ninth and Brad Keselowski claiming tenth.
