German Quiroga Jr. fastest in first Truck practice at Kentucky, Kyle Busch second-fastest

After skipping the last two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races, Kyle Busch is back behind the wheel at Kentucky Speedway — and looking for his fifth win of the season in Thursday night’s UNOH 225, the eighth race thus far in 2014.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) teams were up early Thursday morning at Kentucky Speedway for their first UNOH 225 practice session. And, at the end of the session – with a lap speed of 175.501 m.p.h. – it was German Quiroga, Jr., showing the fastest way around the track.

Kyle Busch, with a lap speed of 175.291 m.p.h., put up the second fastest speed, and he was followed by Ryan Blaney (174.351 m.p.h.) who was third, Joey Coulter (174.070) fourth and Timothy Peters (174.014) was fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest drivers in the session were Darrell Wallace, Jr. (173.885 m.p.h.) who was sixth, Austin Dillon (173.377 m.p.h.) seventh, Jeb Burton (173.327) eighth, Tayler Malsam (173.166) ninth and Joe Nemechek (173.005) posting tenth.

“Happy Hour” (final) practice is scheduled to start shortly after the first session this morning, and run from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (ET) and then the teams return at 4:40 p.m. (ET) this afternoon for qualifying to determine this evening’s starting lineup.

The 4th annual UNOH 225 is set to get underway around 8:20 p.m. (ET) tonight, and FOX Sports 1 will provide television coverage beginning with their 7:30 p.m. (ET) pre-race show.
