KBM owner/driver, Kyle Busch, with a qualifying lap speed of 175.884 m.p.h., on Thursday, captured the Keystone Light 21 Means 21 Pole Award, while his driver/teammate Darrell Wallace, Jr. – who also won last week at Gateway – will start on the outside pole with a qualifying lap speed of 175.615 m.p.h.
For Busch, this was his third series pole of the 2014 season, his fifteenth series career pole and his first series pole Kentucky Speedway.
Following the two KBM drivers to the drop the green flag tonight will be Jeb Burton (175.194 m.p.h.) starting third, series Rookie of the Year (ROTY) contender Ben Kennedy (175.046) fourth and Johnny Sauter (174.978) starts fifth.
He was the fastest in both practice sessions, but German Quiroga, Jr. (174.893 m.p.h.) will start sixth, while Timothy Peters (174.814) starts seventh, Ron Hornaday, Jr. (174.160) eighth, Joey Coulter (173.667) ninth and Ryan Blaney (172.966) rounds out the top-ten.
With only 32 drivers attempting to fill the 36-truck field, no one failed to make the starting lineup.
The 4th annual UNOH 225 is set to get underway around 8:20 p.m. (ET) tonight, and FOX Sports 1 will provide television coverage beginning with their 7:30 p.m. (ET) pre-race show.
