Keselowski destroys field at Richmond; Newman, Biffle make Chase

Bw5ejHLIMAAoLaUSaturday night under the lights at Richmond International Raceway, it was pole-sitter, Brad Keselowski, controlling 383 laps (out of 400) to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Federated Auto Parts 400, and will start the “chase” as the number one seed.

This was Keselowski’s fourth series win of the 2014 season, his forteenth series career win and his first series win at Richmond International Raceway.

Coming in 0.797 seconds behind Keselowski to finish second was Jeff Gordon, and they were followed by Clint Bowyer finishing third, Jamie McMurray fourth and Kevin Harvick (the only other driver to lead laps – 17) finished fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten finishing positions were Joey Logano bringing home sixth, Kurt Busch seventh, Jimmie Johnson eighth, Ryan Newman ninth and Aric Almirola claimed tenth-place.

At the conclusion of the race, 6-time NSCS champion Jimmie Johnson, needed to be taken to the infield care center for dehydration.
