Due to rain Friday afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway, NASCAR officials were forced to cancel the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) qualifying session for tonight’s Lucas Oil 225, and the starting lineup will be based upon the NASCAR rulebook (practice times, owner points and attempts made).
The current series points leader, Johnny Sauter, was the fastest out of the two practice sessions and will take the number one starting spot; followed by Brennan Newberry starting second, Jeb Burton third, Austin Dillon fourth and Ryan Blaney starting fifth.
Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be Darrell Wallace, Jr., starting from sixth, Kyle Busch seventh, German Quiroga eighth, Matt Crafton ninth and Timothy Peters will start from tenth.
With only 32 drivers attempting to fill the 36-truck field, there was no on failing to make the starting lineup.
Weather permitting, the 6th annual Lucas Oil 225 is scheduled to get underway around 8:50 pm (ET) this evening, and FOX Sports 1 will provide television coverage beginning with their pre-race show at 8:00 pm (ET).
