Chris Buescher leads Nationwide “Happy Hour” at Dover

chris-buescher2NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidate, Chris Buescher – with a lap speed of 154.825mph – showed the fastest way around Dover International Speedway Friday afternoon during the final Dover 200 practice session.

Brendan Gaughan was second fastest with a lap speed of 153.991mph. and was followed by Aric Almirola (152.996mph) who was third, Cale Conley (152.568) fourth and Trevor Bayne (152.517) was fifth.

Rookie candidate Ty Dillon (152.104mph) put down the sixth fastest lap speed, while Joey Logano (151.764) was seventh, Brian Scott (151.726) eighth, Alex Bowman (151.388) ninth and the current series points leader, Chase Elliott (151.330) rounding out the top-ten fastest drivers.

The Teams will return Saturday afternoon at 12:15 pm (ET) for qualifying to determine the starting lineup for that afternoon’s race. The current series qualifying track record at Dover is 158.228mph, set by Kyle Busch on May 15th, 2010.

The 29th annual Dover 200 is scheduled to get started around 3:30 pm (ET) Saturday, and ESPN2 will provide television coverage.
