Erik Jones on top of Thursday NASCAR Trucks final practice

Fred's 250 - PracticeIn the final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) Lucas Oil 150 practice session, it was Erik Jones – with a lap speed of 134.509 MPH – at the top of the speed chart Thursday evening at Phoenix International Raceway.

Second fastest on the speed chart was Jeb Burton with a lap speed of 134.148 MPH, and he was followed by Cole Custer (133.769) who was third, series Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidate, Ben Kennedy (133.640) fourth and Brennan Newberry (133.551) was fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten fastest drivers in the “Happy Hour” (final) practice were: Darrell Wallace Jr. (132.890 MPH) who was sixth, points leader Matt Crafton (132.636) seventh, Ryan Blaney (131.878) eighth, Austin Dillon (131.849) ninth and Ben Rhodes (131.743) posting the tenth fastest lap speed.

The teams return Friday afternoon at 4:45 p.m. (ET – On FOX Sports 1) for qualifying to determine the starting lineup for that evening’s race. The current series qualifying track record at PIR is 134.439 MPH, set by Nelson Piquet Jr. on Nov. 9, 2012.

The 20th annual Lucas Oil 150 is scheduled to get underway around 8:50 p.m. (ET) Friday night, and FOX Sports 1 will provide television coverage beginning at 8:00 p.m. (ET) with their pre-race program.
