Tyler Reddick wins Truck Series season opener at Daytona

B-VitO4IgAA1K6ZAfter a 7-lap “dash” to the finish and leading the most laps, Tyler Reddick captured his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory in winning Friday night’s NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Following 0.174 seconds behind Reddick (who led 46-laps out 100) to finish second was series Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidate Erik Jones, and they were followed by Scott Lagasse Jr., finishing third, while ROTY candidates Austin Theriault and Ray Black Jr, finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Rounding out the top-10 finishing positions were David Gilliland taking sixth-place, Bryan Silas seventh, defending series champion Matt Crafton eighth, Daniel Saurez ninth and Johnny Sauter brought home 10th-place.

With his victory, Tyler Reddick leaves Daytona with a 6-point lead over Erik Jones.
