After three laps of qualifying that included a pit stop for four tires, Denny Hamlin and the No. 11 FedEx team – with a qualifying speed of 145.648 MPH – captured the pole for tonight’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Sprint All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS).
Greg Biffle and the No. 16 Ortho team, will start on the outside pole in second with a qualifying speed of 144.643 MPH, and they will be followed by Brad Keselowski (144.349 MPH) starting third, Clint Bowyer (144.256) fourth and Kasey Kahne (143.625) starts fifth.
Receiving the Sprint Fan Vote to participate in tonight’s event, Danica Patrick (143.499 MPH) will start sixth, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. (143.209) starts seventh, Aric Almirola (143.084) eighth, Jeff Gordon (143.080) ninth and Carl Edwards (142.880) claiming the 10th starting spot.
Tonight’s non-point race will be the 31st running of the Sprint All-Star Race, and it’s scheduled to get started around 9:30 p.m. (ET) with television coverage provided by FOX Sports 1.
