Ben Kennedy elevated to Atlanta Truck pole after Keselowski’s qualifying time is disallowed

Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 - QualifyingUpdate 2:50pm ET: NASCAR has announced that Brad Keselowski has lost the pole for Saturday’s Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 after it was found that he didn’t cross the start/finish line in time to complete his pole-winning lap in the final round of qualifying.

With Keselowski deemed to have not beaten the clock, that makes a total of 11 trucks in the final 12-truck qualifying round that failed to get a lap in under the allotted time and did not have a lap recorded.

Ben Kennedy, with a qualifying lap speed of 176.684 MPH, won the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) pole for this evening’s Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Only Ben Kennedy starting positions was settled in the final round of qualifying, as he was the only one to participate.

Sharing the front row with Kennedy will be Erik Jones, and they will be followed by the top-8 fastest drivers from round 2 of qualifying. That list includes Cameron Hayley starting third, Daniel Suarez fourth, and John Wes Townley starts from fifth.

While ROTY candidate Justin Boston will start from the sixth position, Joe Nemechek starts seventh, James Buescher eighth, ROTY candidate Spencer Gallagher ninth and Brad Keselowski will start 10th.

With only 31-drivers attempting to fill the 32-truck field, there was no one failing to make the starting lineup.

The 7th annual Hyundai Construction Equipment 200 is scheduled to get started around 5:50 pm (ET) this evening, and FOX Sports 1 will be providing television coverage of the race.
