Ty Dillon, Sam Hornish Jr. on front row for Saturday night’s NNS race at Kentucky

ByAWKqxIgAA2G6YNASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidate, Ty Dillon – with a qualifying lap speed of 175.690mph, captured the pole for tonight’s VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

This was Dillon’s second series pole of the 2014 season, his second series career pole and his first series pole at Kentucky Speedway.

Sam Hornish, Jr., will start on the outside pole in second with a qualifying lap speed of 175.690mph, and he will be followed by Brendan Gaughan (175.097mph) starting third, Cale Conley (175.046) fourth and Brian Scott (174.853) starts fifth.

Rookie candidate Chris Buescher (174.791mph) qualified sixth, while Elliott Sadler (174.284) starts seventh, Michael McDowell (174.070) eighth, rookie candidate Chase Elliott (173.930) ninth and Regan Smith (173.600) rounding out the top-ten starting positions.

Failing to make the starting lineup was Carl Long.

The 3rd annual VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 is slated to get started around 7:50 pm (ET) tonight, and ESPNEWS will provide television coverage beginning at 7:00 pm (ET).

Alex Tagliani on pole for today’s Nationwide race at Road America

Gardner Denver 200 Fired Up by JohnsonvilleRoad course specialist – and driving for Team Penske – Alex “Tags” Tagliani, with a qualifying lap speed of 108.420 m.p.h., captured his second career NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) Coors Light Pole Award Saturday for this afternoon’s Gardner Denver 200 at Road America.

Series Rookie of the Year (ROTY) candidate, Dylan Kwasniewski, will start second on the outside pole with a qualifying lap speed of 108.337 m.p.h., followed by Regan Smith (108.242 m.p.h.) starting third, Sam Hornish, Jr. (108.185) fourth and Brendan Gaughan (108.179) will start fifth.

Rounding out the top-ten starting positions will be Brian Scott (108.141 m.p.h.) starting sixth, ROTY candidate Ty Dillon (107.920) seventh, Justin Marks (107.687) eighth, ROTY candidate Chris Buescher (107.451) ninth and the 2011 NSCS ROTY Andy Lally (107.374) starting tenth.

There were 38 drivers attempting to fill the 40-car field; therefore, no one failed to make the starting lineup.

The 5th annual Gardner Denver 200 is scheduled to have a green flag drop around 3:00 p.m. (ET) this afternoon and ESPN on ABC will begin their coverage at 2:30 p.m. (ET)
